ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is responsible for the implementation of multiple corporate and departmental data analytics and technology projects. Provides expertise to multi-year work planning activities including consultation documentation monitoring and reporting functions. Leads or coordinates special projects and cross-functional groups to achieve organizational goals. Supports existing systems and drives continuous improvement.
WHAT YOULL BE DOING
- Collaborates/works with stakeholders and follows the corporate strategic leadership planning and direction related to this function.
- Leads and coordinates corporate-scale data analytics and technology projects from inception to deployment with sound operations and maintenance processes following project management and change management best practices.
- Develops project management documentation and improves the use of project management tools.
- Facilitates the definition of project goals scope and deliverables and works with management to ensure effective project sponsorship.
- Supports management and coordination of external resources and ensures conformance to requirements.
- Engages service users and collaborates with specialists to understand user needs.
- Provides consultation to management on project matters including resources and budget.
- Tracks project deliverables using appropriate tools.
- Prepares and presents reports on project health and the project pipeline.
- Implements and manages projects changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
- Successful completion of a University Degree in Geomatics Environmental Science Computer Science Information Technology or related discipline or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years progressively responsible and practical experience in leading the delivery of data analytics or technology projects.
- Knowledge of a recognized change management methodology and experience in helping users adapt.
- Experience with geospatial data management location analytics and geospatial web services.
- Experience in managing and coordinating resources and ensuring conformance to requirements; providing oversight of projects and consultants including project initiation and resource procurement processes.
