Position Description:

Job Title: Psychology Adjunct Instructor - Emphasis in Research Methods and Statistics
Department: Psychology
Reports To: Department Chair
Location: Palo Alto California and Mountain View California
Salary Range:$1667.00 per unit up to $20000 annually

The Psychology Department

The Psychology Department is seeking highly qualified candidates for adjunct instructor positions to teach psychology classes for our programs on-site at the Palo Alto and Mountain View campuses. A full list of courses taught in our program can be found in ourcourse catalog. While we welcome all applicants we are particularly interested in candidates who can teach the following areas of emphasis: Research Methods and Statistics.

The Psychology Department has two APA-accredited clinical psychology doctoral programs (a PhD program and the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium) and a masters program in Psychology. PAU operates an in-house community clinic the Gronowski Center and advanced students are placed at off-site practicum placements around the Bay Area including VA Medical Centers community clinics and schools.

We are committed to build training programs that promote diversity from all areas of psychology. The work done through the Latinx Task Force I4Health and the undergraduate summer bridge program (funded by the APA CEMRRAT grant for ethnic minority recruitment retention and training of students in psychology) represent some of our current diversity work within the department.

Required Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.   • Doctoral degree in Psychology required.
  • Experience teaching in a university environment at the graduate level.
  • Experience with SPSS and R statistical software.
  • Commitment to support the mission of the University.
  • Professional experience in areas relevant to the courses taught.
  • Evidence of inclusive excellence as well as training and experience with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated commitment to facilitating conversations related to culture power and oppression and increasing cultural sensitivity in students.
  • Ability to teach in-person at the Palo Alto and Mountain View campuses
