Position Overview

Goshen High School is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible sponsor to assist trip leaders for our annual hiking trip to Colorado. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about outdoor education student engagement and adventure. The sponsor will support trip leaders in coordinating logistics ensuring student safety and fostering a positive and educational experience for all participants.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist trip leaders in supervising students during travel hikes and camp activities.
• Help with trip preparation including gear checks itinerary planning and pre-trip meetings. Ensure student safety and well-being adhering to school and trip safety protocols.
• Support students in developing outdoor skills teamwork and resilience.
• Communicate effectively with students staff and parents before and during the trip.
• Assist in emergency preparedness and response as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in outdoor recreation hiking or student supervision preferred.
• Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to hike and participate in physical activities at high altitudes.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Must pass a background check in accordance with school district policy.

SALARY: Per extracurricular schedule (Group 15) and experience
