Job Description

Harris Williams (HW) seeks an Analyst to join the Financial Sponsor Coverage Team located in the Richmond VA office.

Role

The Sponsor Coverage Analyst develops critical insights and analyses in support of senior Sponsor Coverage bankers and private equity (PE) client strategies. Responsibilities include:

  • Meaningful impact from the start: Analyze and manage HW proprietary data analyses including buyer performance and behavior valuation trends and observations process dynamics pitch activity etc. and assist in funneling insights to both Sponsor Coverage and HW deal teams in preparation for client meetings

  • Diverse projects: Track private equity industry trends and broader macro-economic data to inform HWs market insights. Leverage Excel and PowerPoint to prepare ad hoc analysis and client-ready materials including peer comparison analyses deal history relationship updates and qualitative insights in support of client meetings and origination activities.

In this role you will collaborate with senior Sponsor Coverage bankers and HW Industry Group bankers to drive highly strategic targeted and efficient lead pursuit. You will also partner closely with HWs data services and technology teams to help optimize and inform ongoing development of key reports as well as ad hoc projects and firm analyses in support of HW firm leadership

  • Excel Understanding of formulas data validation macros tables conditional formatting

  • PowerPoint Slide creation & design

  • Data Analysis Sorting data to identify key trends

  • Problem solving Able to identify trends in data and articulate the impact of those patterns
