MRU Injury & Prevention Clinic is an inter-disciplinary prevention and rehabilitation injury clinic located in Wellness Services at Mount Royal University. The MRU clinic shares space with MRU Varsity Athletics and the Department of Physical Education. Our team includes independent health care practitioners that offer specialized services including chiropractic athletic therapy massage therapy physiotherapy custom orthotics acupuncture and Naturopathic and Sports Medicine. The clinic sees over 12000 patient visits per year.
About the Role
This position supports the administrative work of the MRU Injury & Prevention Clinic during variables weekday shifts typically from 4 PM to 8 PM. It requires exceptional customer service when greeting clients appointment scheduling into the JANE electronic health record and the billing of services including direct billing to 3rd party insurers. The position supports the administrative needs of multiple independent practitioners that provide para-medical services to patients/clients. This position also works collaboratively with the administrative front-end team including the Lead Administrator Administrative Assistant other Flexible Employees and the clinic manager.
Responsibilities
- Greeting and interacting patients/clients at the reception desk
- Answering the phone and scheduling appointments
- Billing for services including direct billing of services to Third Party insurance providers
- Performing closing & opening clinic procedures
- Completing tasks required for next day operations (initial appointment calls & directions to the clinic scanning documents into the client record folding laundry and organizing the treatment area of the clinic for the following day)
- Completing yearly on-line MRU Cyber Security
- Completing PCI modules and complies with PCI Cash Handling Policy
- Maintaining patient/client record privacy & confidentiality
- Other duties as necessary including supportive training of new team members
Qualifications
- One-Year Post Secondary Certificate/Program Completion
- Customer Service experience
- Administrative experience in medical or para-medical field is an asset
- Experience with and direct billing to 3rd party insurers is an asset.
Salary: $16.82 per hour
