The Marketing Technologist is responsible for developing and enhancing database marketing (DBM) programs in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). This role is key to enabling the transformation of our marketing into dynamic personalized and data-informed experiences across email mobile and advertising channels. Key responsibilities include developing implementing and maintaining marketing automation solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in SFMC development ideally with Marketing Cloud Email Specialist and Marketing Cloud Developer certifications and can design and execute complex campaigns to boost customer engagement and retention.
ð HYBRID WORK ENVIRONMENT
Vancouver-based and Toronto-based team members work in-office every other week (Tues Thurs). Core attendance is required from 9 AM 3 PM on these days to support business priorities.
ð¼ A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Develop marketing automation solutions in SFMC.
- Utilize SQL for audience segmentation deployments data analysis and debugging.
- Manage email personalization versioning and rendering.
- Responsible for executing pre-deployment testing campaign deployment and monitoring.
- Work closely with the marketing team to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Implement established best practices and identify opportunities and new strategies/tactics to improve DBM programs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest SFMC features and releases and marketing automation trends.
- Responsible for maintaining marketing automations and managing incident resolution working closely with other development and technology teams as required.
ð WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Proficiency in configuring and setting up data models (data extensions shared data extensions contact models data imports).
- Hands-on experience working with customer and platform (Data Views Send Logs) data.
- Proficiency writing and modifying SQL queries including JOIN statements.
- Expertise in creating dynamic personalized marketing assets using various scripting languages.
- Skilled in building Marketing Cloud web experiences (data forms custom preference pages).
- Proficient in resolving scenarios using REST and SOAP API.
- Strong understanding (experience preferred) of email/ISP domain health management.
- Exceptional communication skills and extensive technical SFMC and data experience.
- Proficiency with template design HTML CSS AMPscript SSJS and personalization strings; WXProxy proficiency nice to have.
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM data model and integration with SFMC via Marketing Cloud Connect.
- Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally and working with technical internal and external (vendor) teams.
ð COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary Range: $80000 $100000 per annum
(The actual salary offered will be commensurate with education experience and internal equity.)
