Overview
Select Medical is seeking an experienced Manager of Payroll Processing to lead our payroll operations and oversee the accurate compliant and timely processing of payroll across all business lines. This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless payroll execution for employees nationwide while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the payroll processing team to ensure accurate timely payroll execution and auditing for all pay cycles. Support team members with their assigned cycles as needed.
- Process employee payments weekly under staggered biweekly payroll schedules.
- Analyze and audit timekeeping data for accuracy. Resolve issues such as high-hour entries missed punches and PTO discrepancies by partnering with company leaders.
- Maintain full compliance with all payroll-related laws regulations and internal policies including federal and multi-state requirements. Stay current on changes to payroll regulations.
- Support the administration and optimization of payroll systems (e.g. UKG Oracle). Report system issues and participate in testing and system updates.
- Partner with HR IT Treasury Legal Finance and other departments to ensure accurate benefit deductions leave accruals banking setups cost allocations and settlement payments.
- Assist with payroll-related audits reconciliations and reporting.
- Develop document and implement payroll policies procedures and process improvements.
- Lead recruitment efforts for new payroll team members.
- Train and support payroll staff as well as field HR and company leaders on payroll processes and system use.
- Prepare and present payroll-related reports to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Accounting or a related field.
- 5 years of payroll processing experience including demonstrated team leadership.
Strong proficiency with payroll systems (UKG Oracle) and the Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel. - Excellent analytical organizational and timemanagement skills.
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written across all organizational levels.
- Up-to-date knowledge of federal and state payroll laws and regulations.
- Strong understanding of multi-state payroll and tax requirements.
