About the Role

The DT Teacher will inspire students to develop technical skills creativity and problem-solving abilities. You will teach a range of Design & Technology areas including product design resistant materials graphics or engineering principles according to your expertise.

Key responsibilities include:

• Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons across KS3KS5.

• Prepare students for GCSE and A Level examinations.

• Monitor and track student progress implementing interventions where needed.

• Contribute to departmental curriculum planning resources and assessment strategies.

• Lead and supervise practical workshop sessions ensuring Health & Safety compliance.

• Support enrichment activities including DT clubs competitions and STEM initiatives.

• Encourage creativity innovation and problem-solving in all lessons.

• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop cross-curricular projects.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Degree in Design & Technology Product Design Engineering or related discipline.

• Strong subject knowledge and practical expertise in multiple DT areas.

• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

• Ability to plan differentiated lessons to meet the needs of all learners.

• Passion for practical learning creativity and student achievement.

• Collaborative and proactive approach to departmental and school initiatives.
