Senior MySQL Database Administrator

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience as a MySQL Database Administrator supporting enterprise and production database environments. Experience must include MySQL installation configuration maintenance performance tuning troubleshooting and operational support in a multi-tiered environment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

• ABachelors Degree in Computer Scienceor a related technical field is. Fifteen (15) years of applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirements.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS PREFERRED:

Minimum five (5) years of experience performing database administration duties specializing inOracle MySQL.
Strong experience supportingMySQL databases (8.x or higher)in enterprise production environments.
Excellent SQL skills including writing complex queries and working with database objects such as tables and views.
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Hands-on experience supporting large-scale multi-tiered database environments.
Experience with MySQL product troubleshooting and advanced problem resolution.
Experience configuring and administering MySQL databases onLinux platforms.
Experience with operating systems includingSun Solaris 10.0 or laterandRed Hat Linux 6.x or later.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong oral and written communication skills.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides senior-level administration and operational support forOracle MySQLdatabases in large multi-tiered production environments.
Performs installation configuration patching upgrades monitoring and maintenance ofMySQL databases (8.x or higher).
Provides 24x7 production and on-call troubleshooting support to ensure database availability and performance.
Performs advanced database performance tuning including query optimization indexing strategies and capacity planning.
Develops and supports complex SQL queries and database objects such as tables views and stored routines.
Supports database backup recovery and disaster recovery operations to ensure data integrity and resilience.
Troubleshoots MySQL database issues and performs root cause analysis and resolution of database-related incidents.
Supports MySQL database environments running onLinux and UNIX-based operating systems including Sun Solaris and Red Hat Linux.
Works directly with onsite and offsite customers to gather requirements analyze needs and implement effective database solutions.
Collaborates with application teams system administrators and cybersecurity personnel to support secure database operations.
Documents database configurations standards procedures and operational activitiesin accordance withDCoEpolicies.
Works independently whileprovidingtechnical guidance to junior and mid-level database administrators as needed.
