About the Role
The Business Development (BD) Specialist Global Finance is an integral part of Lathams Business Development team. This role will be responsible for playing a key role across the full marketing and business development spectrum while developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the relevant practice client mix and matter experience. This role will be located in our New York Washington D.C. Chicago or Houston offices. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the business development activities for the firms Global Finance Department practice groups including Banking & Private Credit Private Equity Finance Project Development & Finance Restructuring & Special Situations and Structured Finance
- Building strong relationships with BD team members and collaborating to support the lawyers in the Finance practice groups
- Aiding in the execution of cross-selling strategies including collaborating with relevant BD team members
- Providing research analysis and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships
- Supporting on directory submissions such as Chambers and Legal 500
- Assisting with the creation and maintenance of written marketing materials and website content including practice profiles and relevant experience lists
- Identifying and reporting on market share across sectors transaction types and markets
- Collaborating with lawyers and BD and Brand & Communications teams on speaking opportunities webinars and other visibility initiatives
- Supports the execution of practice group meetings and retreats
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive confidential privileged financial and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

- Demonstrate the ability to execute multiple work streams and manage priorities effectively
- Display exceptional oral and written communication and professional interpersonal skills
And have:
- A minimum of two (2) years experience within a law firm or professional services environment
- A bachelors degree or equivalent
