Mechanic - Solid Waste
Please complete a job application on our job portal at Purpose and Objectives: This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing Reno County Solid Waste Management equipment including heavy equipment and light-duty vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation. Duties include performing diagnostics routine maintenance welding tire repairs and assisting with methane and environmental systems while maintaining accurate records and a safe work environment. The position also manages parts inventory coordinates outside repairs and completes preventative maintenance documentation. Work is performed under direction of a Solid Waste Operations Supervisor or Department Director.

Position Requirements: - Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 4 years experience in diesel mechanics field preferred.
- Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all certification and licensing requirements relative to the position.
Certifications / Licenses: - Possess a valid Kansas drivers license when reporting for duty and a class B-CDL drivers license as necessary.
- Completion of a recognized Diesel Mechanics certification program is strongly preferred.
