Job Summary

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team primarily based in our climate-controlled indoor shop with occasional service calls to job sites for truck and equipment repairs. You will work closely with the Fleet Manager department heads and construction foremen to maintain and optimize the operation of our fleet which includes Class 8 trucks pickups and construction equipment. This role is essential to ensuring the safety reliability and performance of our fleet.

Proficient in performing safety and performance inspections as well as DOT inspections.

Essential Job Functions

Perform routine and in-depth maintenance on company fleet vehicles and construction equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic pneumatic electrical mechanical computer and A/C systems.
Maintain heavy equipment such as loaders rollers brooms and forklifts.
Conduct safety and DOT inspections while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
Assist with vehicle equipment and parts procurement.
Operate internal fleet management and maintenance software systems.
Respond to service calls and complete repairs as needed.
Safely operate all equipment and tools while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
Class E (MO) or Class C (KS) license required within 30 days of start date.
CDL-A is a plus.
Good driving record is required.
Availability to work overtime on short notice when needed.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
Capable of moving and lifting 70 lbs.
Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
Willingness to work extended hours and irregular days as needed.
