About this opportunity:

This role is responsible for full-cycle production accounting for Alberta and Saskatchewan heavy oil assets ensuring accurate and timely reporting of production revenue and royalties in compliance with regulatory and internal controls. The position supports monthly accounting reconciliations allocations audits and regulatory updates while providing technical guidance to the team and operations. The ideal candidate has strong production accounting expertise advanced Excel and systems skills and thrives in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.

What youll do:

  • Manage full-cycle production accounting including production revenue and royalty reporting ensuring accuracy and adherence to all deadlines.

  • Prepare submit and reconcile regulatory and royalty reporting including Alberta and Saskatchewan government filings oil crown royalties AR GOR and freehold royalties.

  • Prepare and publish oil and gas pipeline splits including Petrinex reporting oil valuation and reporting for recombined gas wells double proration batteries and gain/loss.

  • Manage prior-period adjustments and amendments including PA amendments and AR clearing.

  • Support project-based work such as FCO billings trucking cost allocations and well payouts.

  • Configure and maintain master data including new property set-ups complex property flow changes EPAP requirements and SOX compliance.

  • Review operating agreements and marketing contracts to ensure accurate allocations equalizations and compliance.

  • Provide guidance and implement changes resulting from regulatory updates measurement changes complex allocations and audit requirements.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in full-cycle production accounting including exposure to Alberta and Saskatchewan assets complex gas plants and enhanced oil recovery operations; heavy oil experience is considered an asset.

  • Bachelors degree with a CAPPA designation or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of production accounting allocations measurement audit requirements and related processes.

  • Strong experience working with production accounting systems including METRIX Petrinex field data capture systems ERP platforms and land systems.
