Job Summary

SUMMARY
Implement the American School Counselor Association National Model (ASCA). As a member of the School Counseling staff the counselor is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program for all students at the site which aligns with the district and schools mission to promote academic social/emotional and college/career development while ensuring equity and access for all students.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Masters degree in School Guidance and Counseling or a related field.
Arizona School Counselor Certificate.
Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Arizona Teachers Certification.
Three years experience as a Teacher.
Three years experience as a School Counselor.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles) or proof of MMR immunization.

Valid Drivers license (Arizona Drivers Licenserequiredwithin 30 days of hire)

MVReport showing no more than the allowable points against Drivers License as described underGoverning Board Policy: EEB-R-1Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described underGoverning Board Policy: EEB-R-1Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees

COMMENTS

Effective:2025-2026SCHOOL YEAR
Location:Alice Vail Middle School Broadway & Craycroft area

FTE:1.0 7.5 hours per day
Work Calendar: 9.5 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
