Job Summary
Job Summary:
- Pulls correct sample items from inventory according to the sample order.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Pulls samples from stock to fill orders.
- Operates scanner to adjust and control sample inventory in the system.
- Moves sample items to the packing and shipping area.
- Performs general housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Uses a rolling cart hand-held scanner and computer to accomplish tasks.
- Also performs the following rotating duties as assigned
- Bevels sample material
- Packs and ships sample orders
- Stocks shelves with newly labeled and/or beveled material in the warehouse
- Labels sample pieces
- Processes returned samples
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations (if applicable):
- Must be able of picking an average of 120 pieces an hour for the duration of the shift.
- Working conditions associated with a typical warehouse environment include occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and equipment.
- Retrieving sample items requires almost continual standing walking and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent stooping and reaching are also required.
- Close vision is required to read and identify sample items and match them to the order.
Experience/Education Requirements:
- HS diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Basic computer skills to enter and retrieve data.
- Ability to read and write and understand sample orders and basic instructions
- Basic math skills required.
Other Requirements:
- Safety equipment must be worn as required.
- Overtime may be required occasionally.
- All accidents must be reported immediately.
- Responsible for safety and the quality of his or her own output.
- Must be able to detect shade variation in sample material to ensure product quality.
