Senior Staff Software Engineer

Our team creates products are built on a mature cloud-native event-driven microservices architecture hosted in AWS.

We are looking for well-rounded backend engineers who are passionate about building and delivering reliable scalable microservices and infrastructure for SaaS products.

As one of the main architect on the team you will be integral in building this product and will be part of an agile team that is in startup mode. This is a unique opportunity to build something from scratch but have the backing of an organization that has the muscle to take it to market quickly with a very satisfied customer base.

Responsibilities

• Produce designs and rough estimates and implement features based on product requirements.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to design build and deliver high-quality software.

• Provide hands-on technical leadership ensuring the team focuses on the right problems and builds practical right-sized solutions without adding unnecessary complexity.

• Review code and offer constructive actionable feedback to maintain high engineering standards.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the stack.

• Lead POCs research new tools frameworks and methodologies to enhance team efficiency.

• Thrive in a dynamic environment staying effective while juggling multiple concurrent priorities

• Share support of critical team systems by participating in on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 12 years of professional software development experience

• Strong Java experience

• Deep Experience working with one or more from the following: Cloud/AWS IAM/IGA Compliance Security and Privacy

• Advanced experience with large scale databases and related technologies.

• Expertise with messaging queues and events such as Redis or Kafka

• Deep understanding of modern architectural patterns for SaaS systems (e.g. microservices event-driven architecture distributed systems).

• Strong communications skills including the ability to understand requirements and persuasively articulate technical solutions at the appropriate level of technical depth.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive can-do attitude.

• Independent highly motivated engineer who drives work forward with minimal oversight

• Advanced experience with an object-oriented programming language and techniques

• BS in Computer Science or a related field

Preferred

• Familiarity with big data ecosystems including Airflow-based ETL workflows data lake architectures or platforms like Snowflake Databricks or cloud-native data-lake services

• Experience with Continuous Delivery

• Hands-on experience building and tracking service-level objectives (SLOs) with contemporary monitoring/observability platforms (e.g. Grafana Prometheus Datadog)

• Familiarity with AI/Machine Learning

• Experience instrumenting code for gathering production performance metrics

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

As a part of the total compensation package this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge skills experience market conditions and locations as well as reflect SailPoints differing products industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary for US-based employees will be in this range from (min-mid-max USD):

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employees home location.
