Job Description Job category: HR Manager Job status: Full-time employee Exempt Salary Reports to: General Manager Summary/Objective The human resource manager is directly responsible for the overall administration coordination and evaluation of the human resource function. These include planning coordinating and directing activities such as staffing strategic planning with management and dealing with employee questions and concerns. Plays a key role in building and maintaining company culture through the hiring process and employee relations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to: - Ability to create a culture of diversity inclusivity collaboration and teamwork
- Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel.
- Plans organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals objectives and systems.
- Implements and annually updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
- Develops recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness and information activities.
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts background and drug testing; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
- Plan and implement all employee relations events and activities (including company picnics holidays and surveys) and ongoing efforts to support morale and connection in the workplace.
- Liaison with all temporary agencies ensuring appropriate contracting is in place complete payroll for all temporary employees.
- Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings such as seminars. Maintains employee list and point balance reports.
- Evaluates reports decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities
- Ensure all uniforms are ordered and terminated and authorize billing to reflect current usage.
- Investigate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution
- Ensures compliance with all federal state and local employment laws.
- Maintains all OSHA logs and injury reporting including assistance on investigations and solutions. Works closely with the companys workers compensation management firm and Bureau of Workers Compensation.
- Manages plant safety committee and organizes and supports all safety efforts; ensure compliance with Safety council participation.
- Complete all HR generalist related tasks as required.

Travel - Travel is primarily local during the business day although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Weekly travel or more to support the Mentor Oh office location.
Required Education and Experience - A bachelors degree and five years of human resource experience or nine years of experience in the HR field.
- Proficient in HRIS/ATS Systems (Paycor preferred)
Additional Eligibility Qualifications - SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or equivalent (PHR/SPHR)
