We are seeking energetic passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of intermittent Natural Resources Technician 1 (Creel Clerk) - 10 positions availablewithin the Division of Wildlife headquartered in various counties within the state of Ohio. Pleasant Hill Reservoir (Richland County): PN
Atwood Lake (Tuscarawas County): PN
Nimisila Reservoir (Summit County): PN
Pymatuning Lake (Ashtabula County): PN
Dillon Lake (Muskingum County): PN
Salt Fork Lake (Guernsey County): PN
Caesar Creek Lake (Warren County): PN
C.J. Brown Reservoir (Clark County): PN

What you will do

Collect biological and human dimensions data via angler interviews
Enter data using computers
Operate boats and motors
Hourly pay of $19.47/hr.

Preferred qualifications...

Ability to interact with the public; willingness to work outdoors in inclement weather; proficiency at identifying sport fish; knowledge of boat operations; interest in fishing conservation or fisheries management; may need to provide a vehicle able to tow a small boat.

April 1 2026 - August 31 2026 unless otherwise noted

Work hours and conditions...

Approximately 20 to 40 hours/week depending on the location; this includes two weekend days/week
May include unusual working hours (early mornings and/or late evenings)
Working outdoors in inclement weather
All persons hired as a Creel Clerk will be required to complete a watercraft operators proficiency examination approved by the Ohio Division of Parks and Watercraft or show proof of having already completed either a National Association of State Boating Law Administrators boating course or a proficiency examination approved by the Ohio Division of Parks and Watercraft

These are maximum duration 1000-hour intermittent (unclassified) positions for the Division of Wildlife.

The intermittent positions will remain at step 1 of the pay range. These intermittent positions are not eligible for benefits (e.g. vision dental life health insurance holiday pay leave accruals vacation personal sick any other paid leave shift differential pay supplements etc.).
