Job Summary

Title: Curriculum Coordinator - Math Emphasis

Reports to:Director of Instruction

Purpose: As part of the CIA team designs and implements initiatives in
support of the districts strategic plan in the areas of instructional practice gifted and
talented education curriculum coaching with an emphasis on Mathematics and
assessment as appropriate. Support building level administrators instructional coaches and
teachers to ensure district schools operate in accordance with the laws statutes and Board
policies relative to teaching and learning. Plan organize communicate and provide
instruction to support District priorities state and federal law.

Qualificiations:

  1. Valid Arizona teaching certificate
  2. Valid Arizona Administrative certificate or completing Administrative certificate (preferred)
  3. Bachelors Degree in related field or Masters Degree (preferred)
  4. School based leadership experience
  5. A minimum of three (3) years of successful K-8 teaching experience
  6. Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  7. Evidence of leadership experience in data driven decision-making
  8. Effective professional development planning and skills
  9. Evidence of improved student achievement as a result of instructional leadership
  10. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff and community
  11. Evidence of ability to effectively use technology to perform duties

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Mathematics support:
  • Analyze district wide data and school site/teacher based data to create aprofessional learning plan of support at the district level site level and teacher level
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of a comprehensive articulatedmathematics curriculum instruction and assessment program in accordance with District policy.
  • Promote effective instructional methods and implementation of mathematicscurriculum.
  • Support teachers in designing implementing managing and assessinginstruction in alignment with District curriculum Arizona State Standards available instructional resources and diverse learners.
  • Coach/mentor academic coaches and teachers in high leverage instructionalpractices
  • Implement meaningful student growth data collection and analysis toeffectively monitor student growth and inform educational practice.
  • Use state assessment data district assessment data classroom assessment data and other evidence to actively find students from under-represented populations.
  • Plan professional development long range plans designed to build capacity regarding academic differentiation effective teaching best practices and social-emotional education/enrichment.
  • Work productively as a team member with site Instructional Leadership taems the teaching staff classified staff and site-based teams.
  • Continue personal and professional development through involvement in professional organizations and by attending and presenting at professional conferences conducting colleague visits facilitating school visitation writing for publication and engaging in professional reading.
  • Compile program reports for the administrative team and Governing Board as needed.
  • Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment.
  • Represent the district in a professional manner and in the best interests of the District.
  • Perform additional duties and accept other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Instruction.
  • Work collaboratively with the curriculum and assessment team to meet department program needs IE state assessments gifted programming summer programming etc.

    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    occasionally required to climb onto roofs or in crawl spaces for cabling wireless or satellite
    equipment maintenance and installation. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up
    to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities
    required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
