Job Summary

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Teach fundamental soccer skills and strategies.
  • Manage practices contests and all soccer activities while promoting individual growth in athletic skills teamwork respect and sportsmanship.
  • Manage staff of assistant coaches trainers equipment manager etc.
  • Maintain and secure all team equipment and uniforms.
  • Work with the athletic director to maintain positive two-way communication with staff concerning student-athletes
  • Develop and represent a culture that positively reflects the Sheridan community.
  • Cooperates and collaborates with other coaching staff to establish and implement the shared program philosophy skills and techniques to be taught.
  • Cooperates and communicates respectfully to parents.
  • Supervise bus trips and locker room as well as behavior at away and home games.
  • Maintain sportsmanship and respect to other teams coaches bus drivers and community members.
  • Coaches must keep an accurate record of equipment and uniform inventory.
  • Follows district policies and procedures.
  • Understands and follows rules and regulations set forth by all governingagencies: state association school district and league.
  • Participates in training and other activities deemed mandatory by the district to improve coaching performance and enhance student health and safety.
  • Attends athletic department meetings when required.

Qualifications Required:

  • 3 years of experience coaching Soccer at the high school level (prior head coaching experience preferred)
  • Effective coaching strategies to help develop players technique and skills
  • Knowledge of the rules regulations strategies schemes and techniques of the sport
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff administration district employees families community and the state governing body (OSAA)
  • Experience in K-12 setting preferred
  • Current First Aid Certification or the ability to get certified.
  • Meet OSAA certification requirements.
  • Mini Bus Certification
  • Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously as a team member
  • Ability to plan organize and work withoutclose supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with District staffand the public
  • Ability to respect confidential information
