INSTRUCTIONAL FACILITATOR/COACH (K-5 ELA)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. 200 day contract.
2. Job Type: Licensed
3. Reports to: Director of School Support and Leadership
4. Salary based on district salary schedule for classroom teacher.
5. FLSA Status: Exempt.
6. 10 days sick leave per year of employment.
7. 3 days personal leave per year of employment.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred.
2. Valid Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) License.
3. A minimum of five(5) years of teaching required.
4. A deep understanding of content-specific and general pedagogy the Arkansas Standards for ELA
and current trends and bestpractices in curriculum design and instruction.
5. Significant experience with ELA curriculum development and daily lesson planning.
6. Experience in analyzing data and using results to modify curricula.
7. Multi-faceted multi-skilled resourceful and willing to do whatever it takes to help our
students reach a level of academic excellence.
8. Good organizational and technology skills.
9. Strong communication public relations and interpersonal skills.
10. Experience working with teachers and administrators in a collaborative environment.
11. Ability to work cooperatively with others as well as having a calm patient demeanor with everyone.
12. Must be a visionary and innovative; be able to create short and long-range goals in cooperation with others.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Planning and Facilitating Teaching and Learning
- Supports the development of high-quality/effectiveinstruction in all schools; observes and coaches developingliteracyteachers to improve instructional planning teaching practice and the use of data assessment and instructional technology.
- Works with grade-level representatives and teachers to refine and develop common standards-based pacing plans common formative assessments and district assessments for each grade level.
- Works with various teams (administrators teachers and curriculum representatives) to facilitate analysis of data provided by diagnostics common assessments and formative assessments.
- Collaborates with Student Intervention Teams to develop both school-wide and classroom intervention plans.
Planning and Facilitating Professional Development
- Works with District administration to plan and deliver professional development at the building and district levels for high-quality instruction.
- Collaborates with SSD Instructional Specialists to plan and deliver professional development for staff members aligned to high-priority initiatives.
- Investigates and disseminate information on best practices pedagogy technology integration and state/national standards for instruction.
- Seeks and participates in professional development for continued growth in working with and engaging adult learners.
Planning and Facilitating Program Administration
- Works with the Director ofSchool Support and Leadership Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learningand other school administrators to develop policies and school structures that facilitate the improvement of instruction and the appropriate interventions and supports for students.
- Collaborates with the district leaders principals teachers and students to evaluate and select resources addressing curricular needs and learning goals.
- Leads in the ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the curriculum by gathering information documenting interpreting data and providing constructive input.
- Prepares and submits accurate reports as required.
- Carries out non-instructional duties as assigned by the superintendent or designee
- Directly responsible to the Director ofSchool Support and Leadership
- Adheres to and communicates copyright as well as other laws and guidelines pertaining to the distribution and ethical uses of all resources.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS and/or REQUIREMENTS:
Physical Requirements: Requires the physical ability to operate a variety of equipment including computer hardware and software office equipment etc.
Intelligence: Requires the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Language Ability: Requires the ability to read a variety of correspondences technical manuals trade journals etc. Requires the ability to prepare reports forms system documentation etc. using prescribed formats and conforming to all rules of grammar
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to record and deliver information explain procedures give oral and written instructions communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of technical or professional languages including computer terminology. Requires the ability to speak to people with poise voice control confidence and deliver effective presentations to both small and large audiences of varying age groups and competencies
