The Forklift Operator is responsible for performing material handling tasks within the warehouse to support finished product shipping and warehouse activities as directed by the Finished Goods Warehouse Supervisor. This role is responsible for the storing staging loading and accuracy of the Finished Goods Warehouse. This role continuously supports Sofidels Employee Personal Practice Policy. This position status is non-exempt and works a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. This role starts at $27.72 an hour.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain PIT driving certification for single forks double-wide box-clamp roll-clamp and any other application as necessary.
- Conduct and maintain regular forklift inspections per requirements. Also complete mandatory logs and documents to remain compliant.
- Have an in depth knowledge of the HU label process.
- Stage loads print & apply product labels and verify all loads to the necessary loading documents.
- Monitor scanner daily adjustments level of stock and accuracy of goods in stock.
- Have an understanding of ERP software system and procedures.
- Train & understand monthly inventory counts with warehouse team
- Follow all safety regulations and legal documentation norms pertaining to warehousing.
- Supports Sofidel Americas Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe sanitary and hygienically sound workplace.
- Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify manager of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
- Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules; while keeping work area clean and maintained.
- Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities communicate issues obtain approvals resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments requirements policies and regulatory guidelines.

Job Requirements:
- Associates Degree or High School Diploma with minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be proficient with Excel and Exposure to SAP or MRP system preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules shipping/warehouse and inventory requirements operating and maintenance instructions and quality and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
- Must demonstrate a dedicated commitment to safety.
- Must be willing and able to learn equipment operations.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- High level of initiative and drive.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes eye and ear protection reflective vests and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season. The employee will be exposed to considerable paper dust and employees will also be exposed to noise levels that will require hearing protection.
