The Opportunity
An established and highly regarded accountancy and business advisory practice is looking to appoint a Senior Auditor to join its growing Audit & Assurance team in Widnes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional to take ownership of assignments work closely with clients and play a key role in delivering high-quality insight-driven audits.

About the Firm & Audit Team
The Audit & Assurance team works with a diverse client base across sectors including charities social housing manufacturing leisure and owner-managed businesses. Audits are planned and delivered with a strong focus on risk internal controls and commercial understanding supported by efficient paperless audit systems and robust methodologies.
Quality training and professional development are central to the firms culture with clear pathways for progression into management roles.
The Role
As a Senior Auditor you will:
Take responsibility for planning leading and delivering audit assignments
Manage audit fieldwork from start to finish ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
Review audit work prepared by junior team members and provide constructive feedback
Identify audit risks and evaluate internal controls
Prepare and review audit files reports and completion documentation
Act as a key point of contact for clients during the audit process
Support audit managers and partners with planning budgeting and client discussions
Contribute to the development and mentoring of junior auditors
About You
You will ideally have:
ACA / ACCA qualification (or be qualified by experience)
Strong audit background within an accountancy practice
Experience leading audits and reviewing junior staff work
Solid technical knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards
Confident client-facing and communication skills
A proactive organised and commercially aware approach
