Serve as the Static Equipment and Mechanical Systems technical specialist and provide daily Static Equipment and Mechanical Systems support to the plant to keep the plant systems safe and operational. Function as a technical steward for fixed equipment piping heat exchangers tanks and mechanical systems; support maintenance and improve these systems including all associated documentation. Ensure tracking availability and determine the overall reliability for the Static equipment throughout the plant. Use sound engineering practices to provide guidance and application to plant standards and specifications to develop cost effective solutions for Static Equipment and Mechanical engineering issues. Ensure that documentation for the Static Equipment and Mechanical systems are maintained properly. Provide guidance and development of documentation standards including updates to the unit operating manuals. Participate in the Management of Change process. Develop and use computer assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks and develop documentation. Provide technical support for maintenance planning and maintenance teams. Provide assistance to maintenance and operations groups on reliability issues when they occur. Serve as a plant liaison on Static Equipment and Mechanical System engineering issues including risk engineering system integrity and applicability to specifications philosophies and standards. Provide technical support to other groups by understanding and interpreting codes standards and regulations that are equipment related. Coordinate and develop proposals for plant improvements including design basis and preliminary estimates and budgets for capital projects. Provide technical guidance during development and construction. Support the Project Manager as assigned to minimize overruns in project-related spending. Liaise with other department personnel within the plant in order to seek out opportunities that will add value to each job completed. Support the efforts of the Maintenance Planning Supervisor Maintenance Supervisors Maintenance Manager and Warehouse Supervisor in developing equipment spare parts requirements as needed. Full time employment Monday Friday 40 hours per REQUIREMENTS:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience in an industrial setting in engineering or operations. Of the required experience employer also requires 5 years of experience in the following: Working with Static Equipment and Mechanical Systems and national codes standards and regulations and their implementation in operating facilities; Design and engineering activities related to fixed equipment in oil refining petrochemical specialty chemicals hydrocarbon pipelines or LNG processing storage and transportation; Project development and engineering technical support through a stage-gated approach to progress an opportunity from project feasibility to design and development to its implementation and commissioning; Reviewing technical details of company specifications and reviewing possible specification deviations for acceptance in project designs; Identifying and managing risks arising from the implementation of brownfield projects utilizing the Management of Change (MOC) process; and Communicating project updates and related issues at all levels of an organization and groups from different disciplines.
