The Team:

Join the Data Stewardship group within the Enterprise Data Organization (EDO) for Sustainable1 part of S&P Global Energy Horizons. As a Data Associate you will develop expertise in climate and environmental data products and support the creation and management of new ESG data solutions. The team ensures high-quality data across products by collaborating with ESG research technology analytics and client service teams to maintain accurate data flows apply robust methodologies and deliver timely solutions. Your work directly supports the Climate Data Delivery Strategy and advances S&P Global Sustainable1s mission for a net zero equitable future.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with data operations technology research and product teams to implement and integrate new products and enhancements across diverse data sources and platforms.
  • Aggregate and manage data from sources like CIQ Pro IHS and Commodity Insights ensuring data lineage and robust governance.
  • Maintain and validate the quality of datasets through comprehensive frameworks and metrics.
  • Document data flows process maps dependencies and impact analyses; manage all steps in the data management lifecycle.
  • Develop expertise in climate and ESG datasets providing insights and supporting strategic decisions.
  • Apply AI/ML tools for automated quality checks anomaly detection classification and data enrichment.
  • Resolve client cases promptly conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive quality measures.
  • Design and finalize data structures for new datasets in collaboration with Scrum Research and Product teams.
  • Address time-sensitive data delivery issues and contribute to long-term delivery strategies.
  • Write and groom user stories for Agile development.
  • Contribute to internal communications sharing updates and best practices.

What Were Looking For:

  • Bachelors or advanced degree in computer science data science finance or management.
  • 5 years of data management/operations experience in the financial industry with expertise in large-scale data processing and quality management.
  • Strong skills in database structures data analysis data modeling ETL and data warehousing.
  • Proficient in SQL for complex queries and optimization.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks and cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML tools for data quality assurance and automation.
  • Tech-savvy and eager to learn new technologies.
  • Knowledge of platforms like Databricks Snowflake AWS; programming in Python or R; and version control tools such as Git is a plus.
  • Experience implementing AI-powered data management solutions is preferred.
  • Self-starter able to work independently lead teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong collaborator with the ability to communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Experience with ESG market trends and climate risk assessment is preferred but not mandatory.
