Job Summary

Care Home Maintenance Operative. Oak Springs Care Home

  • £14.00 per hour
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Shift pattern 8am-4pm including weekends

Join Oak Springs a luxury purpose-built residential care home in Wavertree and play a vital role in maintaining a safe welcoming and wellmaintained environment for our residents staff and visitors.

Oak Springs is a 74bed home spread across three floors offering highquality residential respite and dementia care. Our setting includes landscaped gardens peaceful lounges a beauty salon and communal spaces designed to enhance residents’ quality of life. As part of our dedicated team you’ll help ensure the home runs smoothly behind the scenes every day.

The Role

As a Maintenance Operative you will be responsible for the daytoday upkeep repair and safety of the building grounds and equipment ensuring standards remain high at all times.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across the home
  • Completing weekly monthly and annual checks on systems and equipment
  • Monitoring and responding to fire alarm systems boilers and lifts
  • Maintaining internal and external areas including gardens car parks and grounds
  • Undertaking minor repairs decoration and basic plumbing tasks
  • Ensuring all health & safety and fire safety checks are completed and accurately documented
  • Ordering managing and monitoring maintenance stock and deliveries
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues to support safe and efficient operations
  • Supporting new staff inductions by providing guidance on fire safety and building layout
  • Maintaining confidentiality and working in line with policies and procedures
  • Proactively identifying issues and providing practical solutions at short notice

You will play a key role in creating a safe secure and pleasant environment for residents while ensuring compliance with health safety and fire regulations.

About You

We’re looking for a reliable and resourceful maintenance professional who takes pride in their work.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in property or building maintenance
  • Basic plumbing knowledge and strong general DIY skills
  • A proactive approach with excellent problemsolving abilities
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A caring patient and professional attitude
  • The ability to work independently while supporting a wider team

Experience in a care or residential environment is desirable but not essential.
