This is a critical Water Executive Team (WET) role responsible for the leadership growth and operational oversight of multiple Water construction contracts projects and joint ventures with combined revenue between $60M to $200M. The Construction Lead will report into the General Manager of Water and can envision themselves attending to tasks/duties such as:
What youll do
- Ensure our contracts achieve the required operational performance and compliance levels
- Ensure resources and strategies are in place to manage financial financial and commercial risks aimed at achieving positive and sustainable outcomes
- Use influence to ensure the operational leadership team build and maintain a working knowledge of the industrial relations environment in the relevant industry and utilise such knowledge across the delivery lifecycle with a view to managing risk and gaining a competitive advantage
- Seek to increase the footprint and coverage of our existing contract positions to:
- Secure additional sources of revenue
- Reinforce our value to the customer
- Improve margin
- Participate as required in relevant consultative forums pertaining to Zero Harm management
- Take the lead for owning different in Water ensuring relevant diversity and inclusion initiatives are being supported and can deliver business benefits

What were looking for
- Bachelors degree in construction management Engineering Business or a related field required
- Masters degree (MBA or related) is beneficial
- Highly experienced leading operational delivery of capital projects and services contracts that span multiple service offerings and a mixed self-perform / subcontract partner delivery model
- Strong commercial and contractual negotiation experience
- Strong market connections within the Water Sector in NZ Client/government/Suppliers is beneficial
- Ability to travel throughout NZ
- 15 years construction experience including at least5 years in a senior leadership rolemanaging large complex projectsis desirable
- Awareness of sales and related business development processes and have a solid understanding of how to grow and run a business
