About the Role
The Contracts Engineer is responsible for managing engineering contracts from start to finish. This includes translating design concepts into manufacturable mechanical equipment coordinating internal and external stakeholders controlling costs and ensuring contractual quality and delivery requirements are met.
This is a role for someone comfortable taking full ownership of projects in a fast-paced technically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full contract lifecycle from order handover to final delivery
- Review contract documentation and ensure alignment with quotations and client requirements
- Produce and update detailed mechanical design drawings
- Coordinate purchasing manufacturing inspection and logistics activities
- Ensure quality standards specifications and inspection requirements are met
- Track progress manage timelines and communicate proactively with customers
- Control project costs and identify discrepancies before production proceeds
- Compile job-specific manuals and data books where required
- Liaise with suppliers subcontractors and internal departments
- Ensure correct packaging transport and delivery of completed equipment
Requirements
- Matric or equivalent
- Proficiency in AutoCAD SolidWorks or similar design software
- Strong mechanical engineering understanding
- Project coordination or project management exposure
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Clear communication and reporting ability

- Project Management qualification or experience
