Reports directly to the Inspector General or their designee to serve as Chief of Investigative Regions for SCDCs Office of Inspector General. Participate in the detection of crime and the enforcement of criminal law. Plans coordinate and direct the activities and investigative operations of Law Enforcement Personnel within SCDCs Office of Inspector General. Provides liaison and assistance to local and state law enforcement as needed. May need to respond to after-hour emergency calls or natural disasters.
- Leads complex investigations and major projects; develops long-term strategic plans for personnel equipment and facilities. Maintains professional liaison with local state and federal agencies to support SCDCs mission and ensure integrated service delivery.
- Directly supervises staff conducts performance evaluations and oversees investigative case management. Ensures accuracy and completeness of documentation and final reports and reviews findings for administrative action.
- Assists in creating and revising policies and procedures; advises the Inspector General on recommendations. Communicates and enforces agency guidelines ensuring compliance with internal directives and external regulations.
- Monitors expenditures and resource utilization to maintain fiscal responsibility. Evaluates program effectiveness assesses personnel readiness and discipline and recommends improvements to the Inspector General.
- Serves in the capacity of other Chiefs within the Office of Inspector General as needed. Rotates leadership responsibilities in the absence of the IG or designee.
- Performs duties as a commissioned Law Enforcement Officer for the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

State of South CarolinaMinimum Requirements:
A bachelors degree and experience supervising law enforcement personnel at a public law enforcement agency.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelors degree and eight (8) years experience in Law Enforcement experience.
OR
- An associates degree and ten (10) years experience in Law Enforcement.
OR
- A high school diploma and twelve (12) years Law Enforcement experience.
Must have two (2) years law enforcement supervisory experience. Must be current SCCJA Class I certified. Additional Comments
This position requires travel among assigned facilities/locations within the state. Agents are assigned a permanent vehicle for official use. Some overnight travel for emergency situations or to attend training may be required.
