UW Medical Center-Montlake Hepatology Department has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager RN3.
WORK SCHEDULE

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Hepatology RN provides extensive support including facilitation of Hepatology clinic operations coordinating emergency admissions providing patient education planning comprehensive care clarifying physician recommendations managing immunosuppression for auto-immune hepatitis and antiviral therapy for Hep B and Hep C. In addition coordinating the complications of End Stage Liver Disease is significant including treatment for ascites esophageal varices and HCC surveillance. These activities include managing external labs use of database for lab trending medication review and providing test results.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as a supervisor responsible for clinical functions staffing assignments and care coordination
Act as the main onsite leadership when the Nurse Manager is not present
Oversee patient placement and throughput
Escalate operational issues and liaise with the Administrator On-Call
Plan and implement unit orientation for clinical staff (RNs and CNAs)
Foster clinical excellence and incorporate clinical standards into daily practice
Provide performance feedback to the Nurse Manager during annual performance evaluations
Provide just in time feedback to staff regarding clinical performance interpersonal team interactions and patient communications
Respond appropriately to emergency situations and drills
Promote practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote patient safety
REQUIREMENTS
2 years of hepatology knowledge and nursing experience
Previous charge lead or supervisory nursing experience
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State or active Multistate License
