Job Summary

We are searching for a Coordinator Music Business & Legal Affairs to support a Senior Vice President and Director Music Business Affairs. This position will play an integral role in managing day-to-day operations and administrative functions in the department. The new hire will manage calendars screen calls and emails handle reporting check requests and review/circulation/filing/tracking of various music agreements and more.

Responsibilities

  • Provide organizational and office support to SVP and Director Music Business Affairs. Provide additional support to Director Acquisitions and Licensing and calendaring for SVP Music Administration and Strategic Planning.
  • Lead update troubleshoot and provide training for departmental Postmortem review process for films and television shows which ensures that all agreements and payments have been finalized and any outstanding issues have been addressed.
  • Enter synchronization license terms into departmental music rights database.
  • Perform in-depth music and legal research when required.
  • Draft and prepare certain artist and musician agreements and other legal documents for review. Compile information/data and prepare schedules and exhibits to be attached to longform agreements.
  • Facilitate electronic payments for music related costs on television projects.
  • Take on department-wide long term organizational projects and liaise with other studio departments when needed.
  • Create and update presentations reports letters and other forms of management reports and communications.
  • Screen calls and emails.
  • Manage calendar and activities (Setting meetings Call list etc.).
  • Maintain knowledge database (information on specific companies or technologies) and electronic files.
  • Perform agreement redlining and legal form completion.
  • Contract management and tracking including transmitting agreements for signature and preparing tracking reports.

Qualifications

  • Superb organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Able to work independently and with little direction.
  • Excellent oral (professional and friendly demeanor) and written (spelling punctuation grammar) communications skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well with others.
  • Discretion and integrity.
  • Strong document and redlining skills.
  • At ease in fast-paced high energy ever-changing work environment.
  • Demonstrable interest in working in and learning about the music industry as it relates to film and TV.
  • Computer applications: Word PowerPoint Excel Teams Outlook Internet savvy.

Required Experience

  • 0-2 years administrative and organizational support for busy executive; prefer Law Office or Legal experience.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Education: B.A. B.S. or equivalent preferred.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $50000-$62000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including without limitation the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position years of relevant experience level of education attained certifications or other professional licenses held and if applicable the location of the position.
