Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is looking to hire a Law Enforcement Administrative Specialist in the Operations Support Unit Intake and Analysis work center!

The incumbent in this role will provide administrative support to DMVs Law Enforcement Division (LED) by assisting with activities related to reports procurement and other administrative functions; applying knowledge of programs operations and administrative policies and procedures; receiving and reviewing investigation requests collecting and organizing incident related data and forwarding incidents appropriately; reviewing and responding to internal LED requests; providing assistance to customers and citizens; and acting independently on behalf of LED where time is of the essence in meeting work deadlines and the mission of the office.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of DMV programs and operations; principles and practices of office management; and of business practices.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel administration accounting budgeting and purchasing.
Working knowledge of laws governing personal information and identity documents the Code of Virginia pertaining to DMV related issues vehicle sales and titling process and DMV policies and procedures.
Working skill in the use of office equipment and the personal computer including word processing and spreadsheet software and database software.
Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service in an investigative environment; understand and apply federal and state laws policies and procedures concerning privacy confidentiality and disclosure of information.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures; communicate effectively in speech and in writing and interpret data to reach logical conclusions; make recommendations work independently and deal courteously and tactfully with co-workers and the public.
