Position Summary
A Program Therapist works closely with partnered psychiatric providers to lead care for youth in mental health crisis. This role is responsible for providing individual family and group therapy in an acute mental health setting (this may include: IOP (intensive outpatient program) PHP (partial hospital program) or inpatient mental health unit). This role provides crisis intervention services resource mobilization or triage of psychosocial emotional or behavioral concerns. This role is trained in the use of physical holds and restraints and may be in high stress and/or dangerous situations; they may be required to support or facilitate holds or restraints depending on patient and program need.
The Program Therapist role works collaboratively to lead treatment for patients who struggle with high-risk psychiatric needs (such as suicidal thoughts homicidal thoughts and/or psychosis). The Program Therapist collaborates with other members of the multi-disciplinary care team to develop treatment goals assess performance towards goals and complete discharge or transition planning as indicated. This role is an active participant in clinical supervision in the agency.
