SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting in analyzing malfunctions the repair calibration inspection overhaul modification reprogramming maintenance support and operation of simulators trainers computers and digital image visual systems. This position requires working any shift (day swing or mids) as required for successful operations of the C5 Aircrew Training (ATS).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be qualified trained and knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
Applies basic knowledge and experience to solve routine technical tasks or system problems; those that typically may be performed solely by reference to maintenance manuals or similar documents.
Assists in the design of minor hardware system modifications and software programs to stay current with
aircraft configuration and to improve simulator operability.
Assist in maintaining the required documentation of maintenance activities.
Monitors and tracks the repair status of inoperative equipment and document maintenance
activities utilizing the logistics management data base system. Documenting maintenance activities includes but is not limited to work order generation and updates repair action documentation issuing returning and adjusting inventory ensuring inventory records are up to date and accurate.
Perform all site logistical control duties as assigned.
Assist in the operation of the training devices to include DMO activities (e.g. set up poweron/off daily operational readiness testing initialization and other assistance as required).
Recommends changes based on knowledge and experience.
Uses knowledge of simulator and aircraft systems to interpret advanced technical data.
Interprets and works with computer systems utilizing various and multiple operating systems.
Assists in the diagnosiss malfunctions of computers and associated equipment and performs operability/readiness tests and repair.
Assists in performing systems interface/fault isolation.
Applies fundamental troubleshooting procedures in the maintenance of interfaces and peripheral equipment used with computers.
Interprets mechanical hydraulic electrical and electronic schematics and drawings and makes simplified
versions.
Conducts voice communications on phone interphone and radio circuits.
Provides networking and information systems support on training devices and networks.
Maintains good relations with customers and ensures information flows within technical organization.
Comply with compliance of health safety security and local base procedures.
Implements basic modifications to existing simulators.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of a civilian or military Electronics Principles course. An associate degree in an electronics field or completion of VoTech Simulator Maintenance Programs is highly desirable. Aircraft maintenance work experience within an Aerospace Repair shop environment and an Airframe
& Propulsion license (highly desired). Knowledge of commonlyused concepts practices and procedures within the field. Related skill areas should include technical writing and presentation skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read analyze and interpret common professional literature. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management and colleagues.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to comprehend and apply basic mathematical skills.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Experienced and proficient in the use of standard Personal Computer productivity software tools including word processors spreadsheets presentation graphics project management and databases. .
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
CITIZENSHIP:
U.S. Citizenship. Must be able to obtain a Secret Level Clearance.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Familiar with basic and advanced pieces of specialized tools and test equipment such as OScopes function generators DVM torque wrenches etc.
