Job Duties
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking a motivated individual to serve as a Crisis Training and Utilization Specialist in the Crisis Operations division. This position supports the statewide crisis system by ensuring consistent effective use of the statewide VCC platform and other training resources. This position also monitors system activity delivers user training across modules and facilitates workgroups to identify and implement system enhancements. The ideal candidate combines strong communication and data skills with a passion for improving crisis response operations and demonstrates proficiency with technology tools and web-based platforms to support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities include:
Monitoring and analyzing VCC utilization and data quality.
Developing and delivering user training and supporting resources.
Facilitating stakeholder groups focused on module improvement and workflow consistency.
Collaborating with crisis system leaders regional partners and the VCC development team.
Communicating updates best practices and system enhancements to end users.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in behavioral health crisis services or system implementation.
Strong facilitation skills with experience leading workgroups or training sessions.
Experience engaging organizational leadership and direct service staff.
Technical proficiency with web-based application.
Proficiency in data analysis and ability to create and use utilization reports.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Considerations
Experience with Virginia Crisis Connect (VCC) or similar crisis response platforms.
Familiarity with state-level behavioral health systems and crisis response models.
Background in project management or system enhancement processes.
