The role

We are currently recruiting a Practice Information/BIM Manager to lead our journey toward ISO 19650 compliance and enhance the quality and efficiency of our project delivery. This is a pivotal role that bridges operational needs quality assurance and project execution particularly for BIM Level 2 projects.



The selected candidate will

  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of ISO 19650 standards across the practice through our BIM standards and in conjunction with our Audit and compliance team.
  • Develop and maintain documentation policies and procedures related to information management including but not limited to practice BIM documentation including MIDPs BEPs IDPs and COBie data schedules to be used at project inception and throughout delivery of BIM level 2 projects. The role should be focused upon the generation of clear effective and efficient systems processes and content.
  • Provide training and support for staff in Revit CAD and BIM-related processes
  • Oversee quality control and auditing by spot checking and reporting to management team on quality of drawn outputs across all teams with a view to maintaining consistency and quality of outputs.
  • Manage the development and coordination of Revit/CAD components and BIM content from strategic level to detailed implementation level across multi-d teams with support from the BIM technician to enable streamlined design delivery. Input to be adopted and incorporated from various sources including Digital forums to individual comments/suggestions.
  • Ensure the practice is aligned with industry best practice by liaisons with external consultants and independent ongoing research enabling implementation into practice processes.
  • Supervise and line manage central team BIM technician and track progress on component and template development and take day to day responsibility for their task management and welfare.
  • Contribute to strategic planning around licensing and procurement of software hardware and resource needs in conjunction with the central IT team along with IT team contributing to budget planning and advice.
  • Work with internal design teams and liaise as required with external parties to ensure BIM based projects are set up coordinated and well managed at inception and through the delivery phase.
  • Clearly organize plan consult and manage workload with reporting as required to practice management team on relevant matters of progress and BIM implementation advising on structural matters and adoption progress.
  • Continually promote gather organize and manage internal feedback from staff in relation to BIM related documentation and processes to ensure that this is recorded actioned and updates relayed to staff in order ensure refinement and continual improvement.
  • Ensure integrate and coordination of BIM systems with practice wide defence sector security requirements and protocols.
  • Where required support delivery team with hands on support to project delivery.
  • Lead on internal special interest and focus groups in relation to CAD and BIM across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure design staff are provided with technical support are kept abreast of developing BIM documentation and information is shared around the practice.
  • To review integration of AI into practice BIM and CAD processes to allow efficient production of quality data saving time wherever necessary.
