The department of Public Safety at UW Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Security Manager - UWMC and Primary Care

Department Description

Position Highlights

  • Lead security operations for UWMC-Montlake and UW Medicine Primary Care locations.
  • Supervise and develop security staff including shift supervisors and officers.
  • Oversee training programs compliance and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic security initiatives and emergency planning.


Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day security operations for UWMC-Montlake and Primary Care ensuring safe staffing levels and service excellence.
  • Direct HR functions for security personnel including hiring evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Implement and maintain training programs (e.g. WELLE Code Gray Code Silver).
  • Oversee equipment scheduling and compliance with UW Medicine standards.
  • Act as adjutant for the Director in their absence and liaise with internal and external agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Public Safety Administration Security Management Criminal Justice Hospital Administration Business or a related field from an accredited university

  • 4-5 years relevant work experience to include

    • security services/Public Safety leadership role in a healthcare environment or 2 years experience in law enforcement;

    • Advance training or experience with technical elements including physical security systems;

    • security operations;

    • security protocols and training;

    • and team supervision;

    • demonstrated leadership in advancing best practices in a healthcare environment.

OR

  • An equivalent of education and experience will be considered except where legally required.

Compensation Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$95004.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$135000.00 annual
