POSITION: Instructional Paraeducator - CTE Construction Trades and Shops

LOCATION: Pasco High School

HOURS: 7.00 hours per day Monday-Friday

180-day calendar

SALARY: $21.38 - $23.72

Salary Schedules

AA Degree - $0.50/hour extra

BA Degree $0.75/hour extra

NEW HIRES ARE CONDITIONAL UPON PASSING A FINGERPRINT SCREENING

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with purchasing and receiving materials for class projects.
Assist with completion of daily reports record keeping and/or maintenance of inventories.
Assist students who areworking on equipment to complete class projects assignments and construction site tasks.
Participate in special projects that support CTE efforts and promote CTE classes.
Provide exemplary customer service and responsiveness.
Provide support to contractors on site.
Assist in operation and maintenance of equipment.
Assist with managing and maintenance of facilities.
Assist with reporting misconduct on school property and/or school bus route(s).
Attend and complete annual required training hours for paraeducator certification.
Translate verbal and/or written information for the purpose of assisting students district personnel parents and/or guardians. (Bilingual only).
Participate in District meetings to communicate information and gain feedback and/or direction on a variety of issues.
Assists with supervision of students to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
Provide direction to students in group and/or individual activities under teacher guidance.

NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist other personnel as may be required to support them with the completion of their work activities.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish)preferred but not required.
Must meet one or more of the following:

Associates degree (AAS AA) or higher;
Earned 72 college quarter credits or 48 semester credits in college level 100 or higher courses;
Passing score onthe Educational Testing Service (ETS) paraeducator assessment.

Prior paraeducator experience college or on-the job experience preferred but not required.
Experience working with students who are special needs preferred but not required.
Valid First aid and/or CPR card for infants and children or willing to obtain.
Prior experience in a high school setting preferred but not required.
Valid Drivers License and transportation.
Prior accounting and/or inventory control or willingness to be trained.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of equipment/tools used in High School courses including woods/automotive/metals shops/agriculture/foods.
Knowledge in proper use of English in both written and verbal forms use of correct grammar spelling and punctuation.
Maintain detailed and accurate records.
Skill in operating standard office equipment including basic computer applications.
Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
Understand and conduct verbal and written instruction.
Knowledge of general cleaning supplies and usages.
Ability to establish a plan to address student behavior.
Ability to communicate clearly work effectively with staff students and/or building guests.
Ability to follow safe work practices procedures and work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality.
