ICFEnergy Marketsinternscontribute to the development of innovative analyticalhigh-qualityproducts and services typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff.Our Interns are given opportunities to work on assignments that foster growth and allow them to develop solutionsacrossthe power natural gas and renewable energysectors. Throughcontributing toclient engagements colleague and peer interactions and specialized training ICF Interns develop subject matterexpertiseand project management skills.
This is a full-time 10-week internship that begins in early June2026. At this time pay is expected to be $23/hour for undergraduate interns and $28/hour for graduate interns. Work may be done remotely from any U.S. locationor hybrid from our Reston VA officefor those local to the area. At this time we are unable to provide relocationnorhousing assistance for this internship.
AsanEnergy MarketsIntern you will:
Perform advanced quantitative andeconomic analysis of energymarkets
Contribute to the development andenhancement of ICF proprietary models and databases
Evaluate the impact of future regulation and support the development of client strategies to managechange
Write analysis for majorclients deliverables
Support the development of research synthesis reports industry benchmarking quantitativeanalysisand policy summaries
Contributeto business developmentand thought leadership development through market research dataanalysisand creation of marketing content.
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of 30 completed college level credit hours inEnergy Policy Economics Mathematics Business OperationsResearch Engineering or related field
Interns may or should have:
A completed bachelors degree plus enrollment verification in a Masters degree program inEnergy Policy Economics Mathematics Business OperationsResearch Engineering or related field
Strong interest in one or more of these areas: energy economics energyfinanceoperations research andenergypolicyanalysis
The ability to work with and understand technical concepts while also being able to communicate them to non-technical personnel
Basic knowledge of RPythonand/or other coding languages
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong analytical skillsand capabilities in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
Working knowledge of US energy markets policiesand technology.
