Beneficial Deployments ensures AI reaches and benefits the communities that need it most. We partner with nonprofits foundations and mission-driven organizations to deploy Claude in education global health economic mobility and life sciences focusing on raising the floor.

About the Role

Were looking for a Program Manager to shape and grow our global education initiatives. Youll build and manage partnerships with organizations serving the worlds most underserved learners from students in Sub-Saharan Africa gaining internet access for the first time to teachers in India with minimal training and resources.

This is a foundational role where youll shape our strategy for deploying AI tutors and teaching assistants across India Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. Youll work with partners building solutions on top of the Claude API that function in low-connectivity environments teach in local languages and prove that world-class education isnt a luxury good.

The right person will combine deep relationships in global education technical fluency with LLMs and the entrepreneurial drive to build something new at the frontier of AI.

This role is distinct from our Account Executive function: while AEs drive scaled adoption of Anthropics core products Program Managers build deep partnerships that require custom deployments research collaboration and hands-on program design. Youll work with a smaller portfolio of flagship partners where the goal is driving impact metrics and creating learnings that benefit the broader ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute Anthropics global education strategy managing partnerships with edtech organizations ministries of education international NGOs and foundations

  • Grow existing partnerships across India Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America as well as identify evaluate and onboard new partners as needed

  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for flagship global education partners requiring custom deployments (distinct from standard product sales) coordinating with Applied AI product and GTM teams to deliver impact

  • Work closely with partners to understand their technical and operational needs and translate them into deployment plans

  • Set a research agenda for understanding AIs impact on education in low-resource settings partnering with external organizations to study the efficacy of interventions

  • Identify opportunities to create technical public goods -- open-source tools datasets and research -- that benefit the broader ecosystem

  • Work cross-functionally with product and research teams to identify ways to improve Claude for education use cases

  • Represent Anthropic at global education convenings and conferences

  • Help shape team processes and culture as we scale our education work

  • Identify when partnership opportunities are better suited for our scaled sales motion and hand off appropriately to Account Executives

  • Travel regularly to partner sites across Global South (30% travel time) plus visits to SF headquarters every 6 weeks for those based outside SF

You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have

  • 7 years of experience in global education international development or related fields

  • 3 years of experience managing external partnerships grantmaking or multi-stakeholder initiatives

  • Deep relationships and credibility in the global education ecosystem: you know the key players at major NGOs foundations and ministries of education

  • Technical fluency to engage credibly on AI concepts understand LLM capabilities and limitations and partner effectively with technical teams

  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to inform strategy and measure impact

  • Experience working directly with organizations in low and middle income countries with a nuanced understanding of deployment challenges in low-connectivity low-resource environments

  • An entrepreneurial mindset: youve built programs or organizations from scratch likely at startups or in founding roles

  • A genuine drive to maximize impact for underserved communities

  • High agency and comfort with ambiguity; you thrive when youre building the plane while flying it

  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage a high volume of partnerships and opportunities

  • Willingness to travel extensively

Strong Candidates May Also Have

  • Experience working with philanthropic foundations on education initiatives

  • Background at edtech companies AI organizations or in product-adjacent roles

  • Familiarity with education research and evidence-based interventions

  • Language skills relevant to India Sub-Saharan Africa or Latin America

  • Background in classroom teaching or school administration

The annual compensation range for this role is below. For sales roles the range provided is the roles On Target Earnings (OTE) range meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Our total compensation package for full-time employees includes equity and benefits.

Annual Salary:

$215000 - $300000 USD

Logistics

Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However some roles may require more time in our offices.
