Harborview Medical Centers 5MB Psych ICU has an outstanding opportunity for a Mental Health Specialist.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 32 hours per week

  • Night Shift

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Harborviews 5 Maleng Building Psychiatry Intensive Care Unit.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to Code Gray alerts and other crises by securing patients supporting staff and following charge nurse directives

  • Complete crisis intervention/prevention training and apply techniques as needed

  • Assist with patient assessments discharge planning and documentation

  • Conduct safety checks on patient belongings and visitors to remove hazardous items

  • Participate in patient rounds suicide assessments and monitor for behavioral changes

  • Notify nursing staff of patient distress or changes in demeanor

  • Deliver court-related notices and assist patients with legal paperwork

  • Support patients through court-mandated treatment processes and advocate for their care

  • Provide basic physical care and perform tasks delegated by RNs

  • Maintain a safe therapeutic environment and document care in the electronic medical record

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree; AND one year as a Mental Health Specialist I or equivalent; experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

  • Valid/Active Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) or Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) with the state of Washington. Prior to employment.

  • Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license/certification/registration

Compensation Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$61788.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$88512.00 annual

Other Compensation:

Night Shift Premium - $1.50/hour
