WORK SCHEDULE
32 hours per week
Night Shift
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Harborviews 5 Maleng Building Psychiatry Intensive Care Unit.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to Code Gray alerts and other crises by securing patients supporting staff and following charge nurse directives
Complete crisis intervention/prevention training and apply techniques as needed
Assist with patient assessments discharge planning and documentation
Conduct safety checks on patient belongings and visitors to remove hazardous items
Participate in patient rounds suicide assessments and monitor for behavioral changes
Notify nursing staff of patient distress or changes in demeanor
Deliver court-related notices and assist patients with legal paperwork
Support patients through court-mandated treatment processes and advocate for their care
Provide basic physical care and perform tasks delegated by RNs
Maintain a safe therapeutic environment and document care in the electronic medical record
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree; AND one year as a Mental Health Specialist I or equivalent; experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Valid/Active Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) or Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) with the state of Washington. Prior to employment.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license/certification/registration
