Position Summary:
The Capture Manager leads the development and execution of winning strategies for U.S. Government contract opportunities. This role involves operating independently with a small team of cross-matrix functions (e.g. pricing talent acquisition contracts). The Capture Manager works closely with business development and operations to understand the forecast for potential opportunities.
Position Responsibilities:
- Write request for information (RFI) responses and white papers.
- Gathering intelligence on the customers needs pain points and mission objectives.
- Analyze customers technical requirements budget and procurement timeline.
- Developing a tailored capture strategy that aligns with the customers needs and highlights the companys unique qualifications.
- Define win themes discriminators and technical advantages.
- Hands-on technical writing - developing technical volume translating complex concepts into clear persuasive content.
- Highlight companys unique solution addressing customer requirements
- Report to senior leadership on capture status risks and opportunities.
- Continuously implement capture processes and tools leveraging best practices (e.g. Shipley).
- Develop and execute comprehensive capture strategies aligned with company goals and customer mission needs.
- Manage capture budgets resources and timelines effectively to achieve milestones.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government customers industry partners and stakeholders to gather intelligence and strengthen positioning.
- Perform competitive analysis and market research to assess opportunities and refine win strategies.
- Develop Gate Review and Readiness Review presentations and provide regular updates to senior leadership on capture progress.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations policies procedures during the capture process.
Position Experience requirements:
- 10 - 15 years proven success managing capture efforts.
- Proven success in winning mid- to large-scale U.S. Government contracts.
- Previous experience capturing defense aviation opportunities required.
- Deep knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and the procurement lifecycle.
- Ability to work under pressure manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Deep understanding of the Shipley process and other capture methodologies.
- Proficiency in CRM and capture management tools (e.g. Deltek).
- Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities to evaluate market trends conduct gap analysis and guide pursuit strategies.
- Demonstrated experience leading a cross-matrix team comprised of business development proposals pricing estimating and other shared services (i.e. pricing).
- High-level presentation skills with ability to communicate complex strategies to executive leadership.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelors degree in business engineering or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
