Irrigation Technician (April to October)

What you will be doing:    

Reporting to the Golf Superintendent responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:   

• Consistently offer professional engaging and friendly service for all guests 
• Follow department policies procedures and service standards 
• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all components of the golf course irrigation system 
• Monitor soil moisture levels on all playing surfaces including greens tees fairways and rough 
• Troubleshoot and repair pipes electrical components valves and heads
• Embrace the Fairmont brand promise and luxury in your role and in all your interactions
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

Your experience and skills include: 

• Level 1 or 2 irrigation technologist certificate or comparable education required  
• Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system including automatic valves controllers irrigation sprinklers required  
• Working knowledge of various types of pumps and pumping systems required  
• Understanding of turf grass science and the rules of golf required  
• Valid Alberta Drivers License required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills  
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities  
• Highly responsible & reliable  
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment  
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision  
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times 

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
