The Commercial Analyst will be responsible for driving the commercial performance and results by creating the necessary focus within the teams. This will include oversight of commercial performance contributing to setting of commercial budgets and targets driving performance management versus targets through weekly/monthly/quarterly review of the numbers & providing visibility of key results and focus areas to the commercial leadership. The position is further expected to support the ongoing commercial projects by combining industry understanding commercial flair and an eye for details. As a sparring partner to the commercial leadership in Canada the role is expected to jointly envision and implement tactical plans for our performance at trade and customer level and will call for effective stakeholder management garnering cross functional support.

Key Tasks
- Support the commercial organization by supporting the establishing of SMART KPIs/goals.
- Responsible for overseeing and supporting the delivery of MSC Canadas commercial targets and KPIs.
- Regularly identify opportunities and propose solutions to improve commercial performance
- Internally champion company decisions with regards to commercial direction and initiatives.
- Support ongoing commercial enhancement initiatives/projects jointly with the Corporate Commercial Development leads.
- Co-ordinate the efforts/focus areas between sales and trade to ensure synergies and efficiencies.
- Contribute towards developing of the CRM system from Commercial eyes and ensure alignment with other relevant commercial processes.
- Focus on commercial priorities by providing business insights and have data-based discussions with stakeholders.
- Contribute towards improvement of commercial tools and supporting systems.
- Review/Analyze market data support the market profiling efforts.
Qualifications :
Skills / Experience:
- Undergraduate Degree required. Graduate degree preferred.
- 5 years of Transportation/Logistics related experience of which 3 years is in Ocean Transportation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (i.e... Excel PowerPoint etc.) and technical ease.
- Has Commercial mindset with understanding of the Industry/Business.
- Strong analytical skills and continuous process improvement mindset.
- Proven project management skills.
- Organizational and Time Management Skills
- Demonstrates ability to work effectively with and influence a cross-functional matrix group.
- Solutions oriented using creative out-of-the-box thinking.
- Presentation skills.
- Effective english written and verbal communication skills (Clear with the right narrative key messages & delivery). French is an asset.
