Job Summary

JOB OVERVIEW:

Under the general guidance of the Food & Beverage Managers the Café Cashier is the first and last point of contact for guests delivering warm efficient and polished service while accurately handling transactions. This role supports daily café operations by processing orders managing payments and maintaining a welcoming organized front-of-house environment that reflects the propertys service standards.

 

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide exceptional attentive and friendly table service to all café guests ensuring a memorable dining experience.
  • Accurately take guest orders and communicate them clearly to the kitchen and barista teams.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly ensuring proper presentation and adherence to quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean organized and inviting dining environment including table setup and clearing.
  • Collaborate effectively with café team members to ensure smooth and efficient service during all shifts.
  • Address guest inquiries and resolve any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally escalating to the Restaurant Manager when necessary.
  • Uphold all health safety and hygiene standards in compliance with café policies and regulations.
  • Participate actively in team meetings training and development initiatives to enhance service skills and knowledge.
  • Support daily opening and closing duties as assigned including restocking and cleaning tasks
  • Foster a positive team environment through cooperation communication and encouragement.
  • Assist with daily paperwork including service checklists and any required reports.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager or supervisor to support the success of the café.

  • We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service. 
  • We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or food and beverage role preferred with a focus on delivering excellent guest experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards including order taking serving and proper table etiquette.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills in English to engage with guests effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment managing multiple guests and requests simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic cash handling procedures is preferred.
  • Knowledge of health safety and hygiene standards relevant to food service and café environments.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for a minimum of eight-hour shifts.
  • Physically able to perform repetitive motions such as twisting reaching bending pushing pulling and lifting as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs consistently including trays supplies and equipment.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude committed to supporting colleagues and contributing to a welcoming café atmosphere.
  • Working knowledge of federal state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights occupational safety and health wage and hour issues and labor relations.
  • Additional language ability preferred.
  • All team members must maintain a neat clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific department  uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you by your supervisor.
