Job Summary

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Area Access Strategy Development: Collaborate with Area Access Leads and Business Unit (BU) Payer Strategy teams and Strategic Channel Account teams to tailor broader BU strategies into region-specific and sub-region-specific plans to drive formulary coverage and local access ensuring alignment with key influencers in the market and their priorities (e.g. total cost of care reduction formulary management etc.)
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary link for customer-specific strategy and marketing among Area Access Leads Area Access Executives Payer Strategy AbbVie Patient Services and Brand BUs creating marketing materials and strategic updates while leveraging insights (e.g. area-level influence maps policy trends).
  • Area-Level Marketing Execution: Develop and manage marketing materials to support Area Executives (AEs) as they drive access in their market including helping them address unique regional or customer-type challenges (e.g. 340B rate challenges rise of aggregators etc.)
  • Analytics & Influence Mapping: Use areas Influence Maps and analytics tools to tailor messaging promotions and support materials to identified customer targets and current customers.
  • Cross-Brand & Multi-Customer Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of multiple brands diverse customer types (e.g. IDNs VISNs Employers) and sub-regional variations to drive effective targeting and resource allocation.
  • Ongoing Optimization: Continuously update and refine marketing strategies in response to evolving market landscapes payer policies and competitive dynamics ensuring AbbVies market access objectives are consistently met or exceeded.

Significant Work Activities

  • Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day)

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing Business Life Sciences or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability (35 years) to develop and execute marketing strategies in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to adapt broader brand or BU strategies into localized market initiatives.
  • Experience developing local data-driven strategies based on pharmaceutical market access frameworks
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with business intelligence tools to develop strategies strategic decision-making

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MBA MPH etc.)
  • Proven experience in payer marketing market access or health policy.
  • Working knowledge of market access and customer management across types (e.g. regional payers PBMs 340B state Medicaid IDNs).
  • Ability to navigate matrixed organizations and influence without direct authority fostering collaboration and alignment.
