Job Duties
To provide administrative assistance to Student Affairs leadership by providing coordinating and/or administrating complex programs or services providing customer service requiring proficiency with a variety of software applications and an understanding of the structure of databases and the information contained in the database as well as completing a wide range of assignments related to Student Affairs requiring regular use of independent judgement and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia and University policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Considerable experience as an administrative assistant supporting a mid to high level administrator. Comprehensive knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Considerable knowledge of general university procurement/payment policies and procedures to include small purchase card and use of Colleague Financials. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service. Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to perform all duties professionally timely and courteously. Demonstrated ability to plan organize work meet and prioritize competing deadlines and exercise sound judgement. Sound critical thinking skills for independent decision making and problem solving. Demonstrated ability to independently initiate and carry out projects. Demonstrated ability to draft reports and other documents accurately. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and establish effective working relationships with a diverse array of internal and external students staff and faculty. Experience working with student information systems i.e. Colleague Financials and eVA. Extensive experience in Microsoft Office Suite 2010 programs or higher. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities.
