Location

This is a full-time on-site role based in Indianapolis Indiana working closely with an in-house architecture and structural engineering team in a collaborative office environment.

Note

This role requires a Civil or Structural Engineering degree and 5 plus years of structural engineering building design experience. Professional Engineer licensure or the ability to obtain within 12 months is highly preferred.

Job Description

Lead structural engineering projects from early design through construction
Prepare preliminary structural concepts and develop construction-ready designs
Review building codes and ensure proper implementation throughout the design process
Coordinate with architects construction project managers and engineering partners across disciplines
Produce structural calculations and guide technical drafting during construction document preparation
Develop coordinated structural drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy across disciplines
Support construction administration including shop drawing review RFI responses and coordination with construction teams
Communicate clearly with drafting staff clients and project stakeholders

Qualifications

BS or MS in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
5 plus years of structural engineering building design experience ideally in commercial construction
Experience designing structural systems using steel concrete masonry and light gauge steel with a solid foundation design understanding
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Revit proficiency preferred especially in producing construction-level structural drawings
Experience with analysis and design tools such as RAM Structural System SAP2000 RISA or similar preferred
Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain one within 12 months is highly preferred
