About the opportunity:
The Student Sport and Partnerships Coordinator supports the University Sport team by helping deliver a range of sport programs events and competitions that enhance campus life and raise the Universitys sporting profile. This includes assisting with the Elite Athlete Program UniSport Nationals University Basketball League social and intercollege sport and supporting Universityaffiliated clubs. The role also provides operational and administrative support to the Manager across all sporting activities on and off campus. Some afterhours work and flexibility are required to ensure smooth delivery of programs and customer service.
What youll do:
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to raise the profile of sport at the University and strengthen student participation.
- Facilitate the recruitment and organisation of competitive teams for the University Basketball League (UBL) Indigenous Nationals and Unisport Nationals including managing travel logistics accompanying teams on interstate trips and providing support.
- Assist the Engagement Officer to prepare effective visual communication assets to effectively communicate with and to the university community and key stakeholders and raise awareness of activity.
- Provide support advice and advocacy for elite athletes studying at the University of Tasmania and be the conduit between the athlete and all areas of the University.
- Assist with the delivery and development of a diverse range of campus activation sport and recreational programs and activities building strong support.

- Good interpersonal and oral and written communication skills with an ability to deal effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
- An understanding of and experience in coordinating sport health wellbeing and recreation activities and events and/or event management experience.
- Proven capacity to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage a diverse range of tasks and meet set deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to deal effectively with client issues and requests in a professional manner.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $105665 comprising base salary within the range of $80869 to $90312 plus 17% superannuation.
