What we are looking for:
NRC Germany is looking for a dynamic and experienced Communications and Fundraising Advisor to bring our brand to life and grow private individual fundraising in this role you will lead the implementation of NRCs brand strategy drive engaging fundraising-related initiatives and serve as NRC Germanys focal point for communications and media engagement. Your work will help position NRC as a strong trusted voice and a leading organisation on displacement in the public arena.
The role is open to internal candidates who have the right to live and work in Germany and demonstrate native-level German proficiency.
What you will do:
Increase awareness for NRC in Germany as global humanitarian actor working for displaced people.
Manage and further develop all NRC Germany media channels and communications in line with fundraising strategies.
Ensure the consistent application maintenance and promotion of NRC Germanys brand identity
Ensure coherence between communications for German audience including supporting for content for donor communication and ensure increased retention.
Support the development and implementation of individual donor journeys to enhance engagement and retention.
Develop efficient routines on tax reporting (for private donors) together with the Donor Management Section and in accordance with German guidelines.
Develop and implement a media and communications plan for NRC Germany that supports overall NRC brand building fundraising and advocacy strategies.
Responsible for prioritized fundraising products and operating fundraising channels as set out in the sections strategy and annual plans/ targets namely connected with advertisement in social media
Pitch story ideas and media products to German media develop and nurture strong media contacts coordinate and manage interviews develop and nurture strong media contacts and secure visibility of the NRC Germany Managing Director the Secretary General and other NRC staff.
Translate adapt and write media products including press releases statements talking points and opinion pieces for the German market in close collaboration with the Advocacy and Media section in head office.
Own NRCs German web site and social media including publishing and social media advertising including the management of contracts with service providers to ensure quality and impact.
Own and promote the NRC Book and Style Guide.
Track and report results on web social media and newsletters.
Partner with Private Individual Fundraising Adviser to ensure products are suitable for individual fundraising and retention.
Create events and material for donor communication.
Leverage digital channels and website presentation aligning with fundraising strategy for Germany and international markets.
Support development and implementation on fundraising structure such as payment methods CRM/database and legal requirements/compliance.

What you will bring:
Demonstrated experience or higher education within brand communication PR or media.
Fluency in English and German both written and verbal. Must have native-level proficiency in German.
Must have knowledge of NRCs internal operations and context.
Experience from business development/sales corporate partnerships and/or social impact or other relevant professional qualification ideally in Germany.
Knowledge and understanding of the German media landscape.
Experience in project planning and management.
Capacity for flexible thinking and innovation to find win-win solutions.
Ability to multi-task and work with short deadlines.
Ability to work independently and proactively
Excellent German writing and communications skills. Demonstrated ability to create and edit effective communications products in German.
Knowledge of humanitarian work and/or terminology is an advantage. Experience in digital marketing campaigns advertising and data analysis is an advantage experience with marketing automation and CRM tools such as Mailchimp and Salesforce is helpful but not a requirement.

Salary/benefits: Grade 8 on NRCs Resident salary scale with accompanying terms and conditions.
